October is the month for chocolate, culminating on October 28th, which is officially International Chocolate Day. Chocolate comes from the seed of the tropical Theobroma cacao tree and humans have been cultivating cacao for at least three millennia. Phuket is a great place to be a chocoholic. Many of the island’s top resorts employ a chocolatier in their pastry kitchens, chocolate fountains are commonplace (particularly at Sunday Brunch venues) and there are some fantastic speciality chocolate shops.
