Bangkok’s Iconic Central Station is the Backdrop fop for Jim Thompson’s new Collection, Inspired by Thai Weaving Techniques and Signature Patterns

    By: Sandrine Martin

Jim Thompson, the iconic global lifestyle brand from Thailand, invites you to experience the classic charm of Bangkok’s main railway station, locally known as “Hua Lamphong”, which is also Thailand’s oldest train station.

This special fashion set features renowned model Namtan Chalita Suansane, the 2016 Miss Universe Thailand winner, along with fellow models, portraying a stylish journey through multiple looks from the latest Jim Thompson collection.

The historic backdrop of Hua Lamphong delivers a captivating atmosphere with its architecturally significant giant overhead canopy, an unmissable landmark in Bangkok.

Fashionistas are invited to enjoy iconic prints inspired by the intricate art of weaving and Thailand’s distinctive floral patterns. Jim Thompson adds a modern touch to every item, allowing wearers to create chic looks whether checking in at trendy casual locations or dressing up for special events.

The collection highlights include the Hill Tribe print, inspired by traditional weaving patterns from Northern Thailand, transformed into a graphic print in a soft orange-pink palette. Print lovers will appreciate the Hill Tribe designs across various items, including blouses, shirts, trousers, and dresses made from high-quality, comfortable silk.

For men, Jim Thompson has crafted the Graphic Floral print, based on the Lamduan flower (sphaerocoryne lefevrei, see QR code for image of the lamduan flower), a local blossom commonly found in Northeastern Thailand, blending minimalist and bold graphic elements to create a striking floral design. The Graphic Floral appears on short- and long-sleeved shirts in light blue contrasted with brown, and in a vibrant blue version, offering men stylish options for both casual and workdays.

For those who prefer simplicity, the collection also includes Jacket Shirts, Polo Shirts, and their signature range of Fishermen Pants, introduced for the first time for men. These items are easy to mix and match, adding a cool factor to any wardrobe without becoming boring.

Lastly, the collection wouldn’t be complete without Jim Thompson’s beautifully crafted accessories – silk scarves adorned with exclusive patterns. The Floral Silk Twill and Floral Décor Silk Twill scarves, with their vibrant colours, accentuate any look.

Choosing Hua Lamphong as the check-in destination reflects Jim Thompson’s commitment to creating fashion campaigns that highlight Thailand’s stunning locations. The brand encourages both locals and international visitors to embark on a stylish journey, discovering new destinations from the North to the South of the kingdom.

You can shop the new collection today at Jim Thompson stores across Phuket, scan the QR codes to pinpoint the one closest to you. The largest store is located at Central Phuket Floresta, on the Ground floor adjacent to the main entrance of the mall.
