    PRU Joins Hands with Penfolds to Present an Exclusive “3 Decades of Grange Wine Dinner”

    PRU, Phuket’s first and only Michelin-starred restaurant, is delighted to announce an extraordinary collaboration with Penfolds, one of the world’s most prestigious luxury wine brands, for an exclusive “3 Decades of Grange Wine Dinner.” This one-night-only event will take place on 20 May 2025, offering a rare opportunity to experience the intersection of exceptional cuisine and legendary wines.

    Located adjacent to the luxurious Trisara Resort, PRU is helmed by Executive Chef Jimmy Ophorst, who has redefined fine dining in Phuket with his innovative “community-to-fork” philosophy. The restaurant is renowned for its commitment to sustainability, sourcing ingredients from its own organic farm, Pru Jampa, and supporting local artisans. Guests at PRU can expect a unique culinary journey that showcases the finest Thai ingredients transformed into extraordinary dishes.

I am thrilled to join forces with my team to create a meticulously curated six-course ‘3 Decades of Grange Wine Dinner,’ paired with three decades of Penfolds Grange vintages. Each pairing has been thoughtfully crafted to harmonize the exquisite flavors of the dishes with the unique character of the wines, ensuring an unforgettable culinary journey,” shared Chef Jimmy.

    This collaboration with Penfolds marks a unique milestone for PRU, as the restaurant steps beyond its usual offerings to host this exclusive dining experience. Penfolds, globally celebrated for its rich heritage and unwavering commitment to exceptional winemaking since 1844, brings to the table its flagship wine, Grange, for an unforgettable evening. “3 Decades of Grange Wine Dinner” will showcase a meticulously curated six-course menu crafted by Chef Jimmy Ophorst and his team, paired with three decades of

    Penfolds Grange vintages. Each pairing has been thoughtfully designed to enhance both the exquisite flavors of the dishes and the distinctive character of the wines, promising a truly unforgettable dining experience.

    The journey begins with PRU’s signature dish, King of the Fruits, offering a harmonious introduction to the evening.

    This is followed by Black Crab & Green Curry, paired with the Yattarna Chardonnay 2019— a wine known for its confident, complex flavors, beautifully balanced with floral notes. A delicately prepared Lotus Root & Shrimp Paste comes next, served alongside the iconic Grange 1991, celebrated for its robust character refined over nearly 35 years.

    Aged Duck & Tamarind

    Then, Squid & Blue Cheese is paired with the rich and concentrated Grange Shiraz 2001, a bold yet refined match. For the main course, Aged Duck & Tamarind—PRU’s signature duck dish infused with star anise and black pepper—is paired with the exceptional Grange Shiraz 2018, a vintage awarded a flawless 100-point rating by Robert Parker, one of the world’s most influential wine critics.

    Marian Plum & Phuket Pineapple

    The experience concludes on a sweet note with Marian Plum & Phuket Pineapple, a delightful seasonal dessert that offers a refreshing and memorable end to the evening.

    Adding to the exclusivity of the evening, Joshua Yim, Penfolds’ Brand Ambassador, will join the dinner to share insights into the heritage and craftsmanship behind the exceptional Grange vintages. The price for this exclusive experience is THB 10,000++ per person, including wine pairings.
