    Creating Wedding Perfection

If you’ve always dreamed of getting married somewhere tropical, magical and romantic, then the island of Phuket is your perfect paradise

Phuket is a charming and mystical island; a dream destination with something to suit everyone, with sunshine and world-class services, all while exuding romance and elegance to capture the heart.

Couple-to-Be Jamie and Jub decided on a wedding in Thailand and explored an array of venue options, including the finest villas and hotels spread across the country. However, one venue rose above the rest and was simply beyond compare.

This was The Aquila, a luxury private oceanfront villa perched high on the cliffs of Kamala, on Phuket’s stunning west coast.

Hosting their wedding in a private luxury villa, rather than a hotel, appealed to the couple for several reasons.

Planning a wedding at The Aquila offers total control over the venue, from the front door right down to the oceanfront, with freedom to create all-encompassing themes across all the spaces. Everything and anything the bride and groom desire can be customised to suit tastes and budget.

After choosing a wedding planner, couples can let their imaginations run free and begin the creation of their very own special day.

Jub wanted a deck built over the pool where they would take their marriage vows, with the breath-taking uninterrupted view stretching endlessly to the horizon being symbolic of infinite possibilities.

The decoration of this ceremonial area was nothing short of magical – with an abundance of fresh white orchids and a sprinkling of lights flickering above the pool, the effect was elegant, enchanting and memorable.

The Aquila’s private compound is perfect for a medium-sized wedding of up to 100 guests. Its lavish 3,500 sq.m of floor space, spread across three levels, offers an adaptable variety of entertaining areas, all of them with the splendour of the Andaman Sea as a backdrop.

This scenic vista is particularly impressive after the glorious Phuket sunsets fade and darkness envelops the seascape, bringing awareness of the lack of light in the immediate vicinity, and with it, an implicit promise of luxurious privacy.

The villa itself oozes all the charm, style and amenities of a modern-day castle, mounted high up on a soaring cliff with 165m of ocean frontage.  One of its unique qualities is the large amount of roofed space covering the floorplan – making it able to promise indoor space and comfort in the event of inclement weather.

Meanwhile, after Jamie and Jub had taken their wedding vows to the sound of wakes breaking on the rocks below, outside caterer Chef Daniel whipped up his special blend of sumptuous Thai food as glasses of Möet Chandon were clinked, toasted, drank and refilled.

As a fiery ruby-red sun sank over the horizon and their fairytale wedding was complete, close family and friends settled into lounge mode with games of pool in the Games Room, sampling the selection of draught beer and extensive liquor selection in the private Bar, or simply relaxing in the Sala to soak up as much as possible of all the entrancing moments. This really was a day that neither bride, groom or the guests wanted to end.

Although there’s really no need to leave The Aquila, Jamie and Jub and many of their international guests took the opportunity to explore and make the most of Phuket during their stay. Drivers and transport were organised by The Aquila for shopping and sightseeing trips around the island.

And after the event, the Aquila staff were on hand to ensure all guest needs were taken care of to help them make the most of the villa and its facilities.

Those who dream of a destination wedding are usually the ones who don’t wish to compromise, because the images and experiences of that special day will be memories carried forward. The Aquila provides memories to remain vivid and cherished.
