A dive into Thailand’s largest aquarium experience is a must activity on your Phuket holiday, particularly if you are with the family. The Aquaria Phuket is a spell-binding adventure for big fish and minnows alike

    By: Christopher Lee

Located in a subterranean world below the Central Phuket Floresta luxury shopping mall, the Aquaria spans over three acres and features more than 500 species, and 100,000 aquatic and terrestrial animals across nine unique attraction zones.

Start in the Mystic Forest, a mythical Himmapan realm where tiny and giant freshwater fish weave enchanting underwater patterns. Ascend to the Canopy Walk, a treetop vantage point offering a mesmerising view of fish gliding gracefully below.

Next, move into the Jewels of the Jungle, to encounter a diverse array of reptiles with surprising charm and captivating personalities. In this area you can meander into the River Caves, where playful small-clawed otters swim in lively streams. Continue to Coastal Haven, a stunning seascape where playful penguins and majestic sharks glide effortlessly. Don’t miss the penguin feeding times, guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone’s face.

Immerse yourself in Stingray Bay, a vibrant habitat filled with colourful corals and dazzling stingrays. Here you will drift by the sunken wreck of the U.S.S. Largato, a historic warship transformed into a mesmerising underwater sanctuary.

The Aquaria Phuket takes you on a journey across Asia. At the South China Sea exhibit, the breathtaking centrepiece holds over 3.5 million litres of seawater and 100,000 marine creatures from 500 species.

Continue your journey at Station Aquarius, with hands-on marine life interactions and mesmerising jellyfish. In the Touch Pool area you are allowed to feel the textures of live starfish and rays, fostering a deeper connection with our ocean’s inhabitants.

Aquaria Phuket promises a mind-blowing, mystical adventure that, for some, will be the high-point of the holiday.

But you are not done yet! Have you ever met a mermaid? At Aquaria Phuket you will. Beautiful, half fish half human, creatures perform graceful aquatic dances, as sharks and stingrays watch on, mesmerised like everyone else.
