If you are looking for somewhere really special to celebrate this season’s festivities, be it Christmas, New Year, Lunar New Year, or perhaps just a family special occasion, Andara Resort and Villas offers a magical blend of relaxation, festive cheer and celebration in one of the most glamorous locations on the island.
Located in Kamala, at the heart of Phuket’s west coast beach riviera, Andara is discreetly built on a hillside, looking west over Kamala bay; the sunsets are amazing. Celebrating your special festive occasion here is an extravagant, luxurious experience, accentuated by elegant decorations, gourmet feasts and vibrant events tailored to conjure-up a magical holiday atmosphere.
REGULAR WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS OVER THE SEASON
Sundays, from noon onwards, are relaxed around the pool deck at Andara. At the adjacent La Seta, there is a special al fresco Italian lunch available. It is the real deal as the chef’s at La Seta are both Italian and Thai, so all of your favourite Neapolitan pizzas and pastas are available, perfectly prepared and cooked.
As the Sunday sunset approaches, hang around and enjoy the light-show on the horizon with a Sunday Sundowner. To add to the vibe Andara fade in the cool sounds from their resident DJ.
From 7 pm onwards, every Wednesday evening at the resort’s signature SILK restaurant, the kitchen gets busy embracing cuts of prime meat, it’s time for the Steak Affairs Dinner. The Angus Ribeye and Wagyu Striploin are recommended, which you can pair with some great wine or be creative with some wonderful tropical cocktails.
The Taste of Siam dominates Friday evenings. From 7 pm SILK is transformed into a theatre of Thai dance, music and food. Every region of Thailand is featured on the extensive buffet, whilst diners are serenaded with captivating Thai dance performances. The Taste of Siam spreads poolside when weather permits.
CHRISTMAS WEEK
Andara really knows how to decorate a tree, so stunning is their spruce that it has become an Instagram backdrop for the ages.
Christmas Eve is on a Tuesday this year, and you need to book a table for the Weihnachten dinner from 7 pm. The culinary team is waiting for you with a feast featuring seafood, BBQ, roast turkey, crispy pork porchetta, homemade pasta, cheese, and traditional sweets. Enjoy carol singers from the Good Shepherd School at 7:30 PM, followed by a Christmas Live Duo Band and Fire Show.
The Christmas Day extravaganza is everything you would expect with traditional international December fayre, but with a refreshing Asian twist. You will be embarking on a tropical flavour journey with this sumptuous Christmas Day Lunch, showcasing turkey, glazed ham, fresh seafood, sushi, La Seta’s pizza, Thai specialties, and much more. Live music and a festive DJ add some musical delights! It all happens at SILK, although for the kids the pool is totally accessible.
THE NEW YEAR PARTY
For some, the highlight of the festive period is New Years’ Eve. At Andara you can expect the spectacular, for not only does the resort celebrate with its own firework display, but the elevated position of Andara means you overlook the entire length of Kamala Beach which will be going crazy with pyrotechnics.
The Gala Dinner laid on by SILK begins 5-hours before the clock strikes 12, so you can plan to arrive from 7 pm if you want to get there early. Dressing up is very much encouraged and as Andara is located on Phuket’s exclusive ‘millionaires’ mile’ you can expect to see some ‘A-list’ guests in all their finery!
Way before the countdown commences you are treated to indoor and poolside food stations, BBQs, oyster bars, fresh seafood counters, Thai classics and chef’s cooking your chosen meat to perfection. All the while there is non-stop entertainment, dancing, performances and an explosive start to 2025 at midnight.
LUNAR NEW YEAR
If the Lunar New Year is more your thing, then you have to wait until 28th January, when Andara starts hissing. 2025 is the ‘Year of the Snake’, which is poignant as a year for intelligence, intuition and wisdom. SILK and the poolside venue is the same, but the cuisine is a little different than the calendar new year event.
A sumptuous poolside BBQ buffet is available, with detectable Chinese-inspired delicacies and a focus on fresh seafood. A lively atmosphere is created to celebrate the Year of the Snake, including a duo band, fire show, followed by a dramatic Lion and Dragon dance performance symbolising new spirit, prosperity and good fortune for the upcoming year.
