    VERSACE – La Vacanza Collection

Summer’s feeling of possibility and freedom is the inspiration for Donatella Versace’s latest La Vacanza Collection, itself an abundant celebration of graphic prints, the generous use of summer silks, satin, and jersey, and of sunrise to sunset dressing.

The collection print is Barocco Sea, a new graphic that continues Versace’s  rich heritage of prints inspired by natural wonders of the sea, as intrinsic to the House as its inspirations from Classical art and mythology. The print is inspired by two iconic Versace  prints, the Trésor de la Mer and its coral, shells and starfish, and the ornate flourishes of the signature Barocco. It features across women’s and men’s shirts and matching shorts, summer knit cardigans and bralettes, a full selection of dresses, gathered jersey skirts, and more.

The graphic is explored in different colour combinations and material techniques including as a print in full scale and detail placement, embroidery, devoré, broderie anglaise, and terry stitch jacquard. Tailoring is crafted in summer wool for a softer silhouette but keeps Versace’s  signature strength through details such as the Medusa ’95 in compelling gold or silver metal, or printed silk panels across the back of men’s jackets. Tweed jackets, tops, skirts, and shorts recur from recent seasons, here in a lighter weight and colour of dusty rose and ivory. New pleated dresses with lavallière details and the Barocco print are in colours of dusty rose, beige, or concrete blue. Standout evening styles include a cocktail dress in Versace’s  iconic metal mesh, and a column gown with starfish shapes crafted in an embroidery of Japanese natural pearls, silver paillette, and crystals.

    Products featured:

Barocco Sea Silk Foulard.  Featuring motifs with corals, shells and starfish referencing a print from the 2005 collection.

Medusa Medallion Sunglasses.  Square-shaped injected sunglasses feature a tonal Medusa emblem at the temples, with a metal Greca frame.

Barocco Sea Swimsuit.  A one-piece swimsuit with a scoop neckline and low back, featuring an all-over Barocco Sea print.

Crystal Barocco Sea Travel Cup. Crystal-embellished stainless steel travel cup features the Borocco Sea motif, and is complemented with a straw for warm and cold drinks.

Barocco Sea Bathrobe.  A soft, terry-towelling bathrobe featuring a Borocco Sea print, and a matching wrap belt. Available in concrete blue and dusty rose.

SAINT LAURENT – Summer 2024 Collection

Saint Laurent presents its  Women’s Summer 2024 Collection, defining simplicity and returning to the brand’s heritage, with the assertive concept of creating couture clothing that can be worn in everyday life. This includes silhouettes that emphasise increased comfort when wearing, and when compared to past seasons.

Creative Director  Anthony Vaccarello drew inspiration from  Amelia Earhart, Adrienne Bolland and other pioneering women who infiltrated domains once considered exclusively male, such as aviation and car racing. The result exudes what has long been a quintessential Saint Laurent premise: assertive sophistication, liberally taking elements from a man’s wardrobe and making them lastingly feminine.

The safari jacket, jumpsuit and  Calypso bag are the key items of this collection, especially the oversized jumpsuit that emphasizes the figure with a belt around the waist. There are also a variety of cotton and linen fabrics that are tailored in earthy shades such as olive green, reddish brown, sand and chalk colours that represent nature. At the same time, various accessories come with classic sophistication combined with a simple design as well as the leather gloves and high heels, all enhancing the look in a typical Saint Laurent style.

The collection also features a distinctive kaleidoscope pattern. During the launch modern day structures are decorated as a backdrop for the show; for example, the recreation of the nighttime atmosphere of the  Eiffel Tower in a charming and elegant way.
